What would would you want from Real Life Sword Art Online?

Why do or don't you want it? What would you do, how bad do you want it?

How important is the tech? Have you had an SAO experience ever before?

Let's talk lot.

If a VRMMO like SAO exists, I really don't want to be confined in it for 2-3 years.

It would be fun. But a SAO without the VR concept from the Anime won't actually be SAO. I fence saber in college and now I fence recreationally every other day-occasionally switching to epee every now and then. It would be nice to test out my footwork and fast reaction in a VR world because I think that my skills would transfer smoothly. My fighting style is mostly like the imp, Yuuki. Being from saber and epee I'd most likely use a sword that offers good piercing abilities as well as slices and cuts, probably a Chinese straight sword with a half-hand grip. Using something like this would be awesome.

But I agree with Arukado, I do not want to be stuck in the game though....

I'm good with being stuck in a game as long as someone takes care of my physical body.

If Fully-Immersive VR exists and I could be in it, a world similar to SAO's or Danmachi's would be good. Something vaguely middle ages with a slight touch of fantasy, with bright colors and great sights to see. I'd like to have the world be beautiful if I'm going to immerse myself in it.

I'd love to have it have life skills like in Mabinogi and in SAO. Cooking, smithing, taking care of plants and animals, eating, crafting, potion making, gathering, building structures. Just give us a world to actually live in with a purpose and not just grind. And make it vast with varying locales, continents and climates.

I think beyond the idea of being put in a virtual prison, realistically you're in your own sand box.

It would be amazing to just create, learn, build things in a brand new world where you have to discover the idiosyncrasies of everything.

I hope one day VR will be usable and viable for creative purposes. (this doesn't apply with current set of VR gear such as oculus, which isn't very user-friendly outside of being an amusement).
