Problem connecting to the server.

Post by Savall » January 10th, 2017, 2:16 pm

Hope it's the correct forum for this.

I'm having an issue trying to connect to the server. I've found a solution on google that didn't work for me that was while connecting to server, click close window, wait, cancel, and the game connects to the server. But that doesn't work for me.

Basically the issue is that:
- Through Steam
- Game opens
- I click on my server (Latin America)
- Click connect
- I get the window of "connecting to server"
- It closes
- Nothing happens.

The thing is that, I have 2 laptops with the game installed:
- The one I use for work
- Mine, personal

I have a horrible connection at home to download 10GB, so I downloaded the game through Steam on my work laptop, and the copied the files at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior to the steam folder of my personal laptop.
I found the way to make steam recognize it and the game executes correctly. But I can't connect to the server.
I'm getting no error message, just the message "Connecting to server", that closes by itself and nothing happens.
I tried closing my antivirus and firewall. Tried checking the caché of the game for corrupted files (that, by the way, I did that at least 3 times, and everytime it finds around 13mb to re-download).
But nothing worked.

Hope I don't need to download the full game again.

Thanks in advance.

I have found the solution.
Not a real solution but an alternate way to copy the game.
Instead of copy and paste the folder, I used the BackUp Steam feature.
Backed up the game files, and loaded them back on the other laptop.
The issue was that those updates the launcher does on first launch were not copied on the backup. Had to wait a lot with my poor internet connection.
But it solved the problem.
