I haven't set up one yet. I already thought about it though. I can create a channel for us if you want. If you already created a channel we can use that one too.

irc.globalgamers.net
#TreeOfSavior

We can use that one for now. I'll make a small edit to the OP about how to connect to it after for those who don't know how to use IRC.

Perhaps this topic should be Pinned so more people notice and join the chat? :no1:
Or is there any other active channel for ToS going on? :hmm:

I pinned the topic. I don't think there is another TreeofSavior channel.

Give it some time before people start to join in. Once we start doing things together or the game goes into CBT hopefully it'll fill up.

I imagine a majority of the people here will be regulars inside the chat once CBT is open. Perhaps myself included.

Are people actually active on IRC, should I join? Also has anyone considered making a raidcall/teamspeak server?

I join occasionally but I have lots of things to do, so I'm frequently afk and it disconnects me :sob:

the IRC is quite active but not 100% of the time (that's how IRC works) so if you really want to see it active you have to be willing to idle in the channel for some time first usually ^^

about TS / RaidCall: I already thought of it add I might add something like that in the future. However I think that an IRC channel is more usefull until the game is launched because it's much easier to follow discussions even if you are afk or something.

I found it a hassle to set up an account, but beyond that, I've begun to like IRC over RC/TS. Btw, I have issues with TS sound not working.
Desperate for 1 key.

The main reason I chose IRC over the other platforms is mainly to provide an environment for us to gather rather than relying on Skype or any voip platforms (since some people don't like to talk). I'm sure we'll have TS/mumble setup in the future but that's ways away.

I'd avoid Raidcall like the plague if you want to do anything for anything longer than one hour. Teamspeak or mumble would fit the bill a lot better.

I would highly recommend Mumble, I personally and currently use a 250-slot Mumble.

Mumble is preferred over TS3 if you plan to have large quantity of players using it at the same time.

Comparing latency, Mumble hands down has the lowest latency, and highly more cost effective. Mumble is wayyy cheaper then TS3 if you plan to have one in the future.

It really comes down to the needs and wants. If you have a large quantity of players and/or place heavy emphasis on voice quality mumble would be a the #1 choice. TS3 on the other hand emphasizes user friendliness and ease of setup for general use. I personally prefer mumble over any other platform due to the fact I like my peers to sound like people and not loud static.
