Character Creation and Hair Styles

Post by Flash » January 22nd, 2015, 4:04 am

We want to explain you how the character creation works and want to show you the hair styles that were available in the 1st CBT.

Like the character selection the character creation is not just a simple menu but will take place in the players barracks. Once you click on the character creation button you current characters will disappear and you will see a male and femele character of every class instead.

Character creation barracks.
You can click on those charcters to select them. You see the basic information of the class and are able to change the hair style. You can also rotate the character to check if you really like the character's appearance.

If you select a class you'll see the basic class attributes.
You can also name the character but all characters will share the same last name which depends on your account and other payers might only see you last name (depending on their client options).
Hair Styles
Here are images of all hair styles that were available in the CBT.

Here's hoping they'll allow more colors in the next CBT. Everything is so... brown.
I don't think we're in Cantha anymore, Togo.

Maybe a mage shouldn't have more defenses than an archer.... well I feel like archer and wizard stats are switched

It might be accounting for Magic Defense as well. Or Protective Skills?

Well ok probably I got it...

First bar
attack power 공격력

Second bar
defense power 방어력

Third bar
auxiliary/support 보조

Last bar
difficulty level 난이도

So basically compared to a wiz, the archer is simply less supportive and much harder to play with, and yeah "defense power" is a generic term that can easily include magical barrier &Co

Interesting stat distributions. :slur:

I like a lot of the hair styles.

Favorite female hairs are 6,7, and 8. For males I like 1,7, and 9. :heh:

Never argue with a Noob.... They only bring you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

It's interesting to see Granado Espada's barracks system returns in ToS. The barracks/family system was one of the main reasons I played GE and is a very nice touch. Rather than Ragnarok online, I think the style of ToS is going to lean more towards GE with Maplestoryish controls. This is a great addition since the point-and-click movement system in GE was buggy, didn't work well with gigantic monsters, and extremely susceptible to errors in movement.

Really looking forward to this game.

I know that maybe everybody realized yet and it's not something new but I wanted to know what exactly says the labels in the character creation.

on the right top of the screen we find what should be a polite:
생성을 원하는 클래스를 선택하세요
"Please select the class you want to create"
then in the lower/middle screen we find a labeled input box:
캐릭터 이름
"Character name"
right below a green, blue... well petrol blue button which says, I guess:
캐릭터 생성
"Create character"
in the lower/left in the class slide a first grayish button which probably means:
선택 취소
"Clear?"
(my interpretation of google translate: "Select Cancel")

and finally another shy, grayish button in the lower/right corner:
생성 취소
"Cancel creation?"
<-[EDITED]
(my interpretation of google translate: "Create canceled", used to exit the character creation, can anyone confirm?)

to prevent misunderstandings, I translated completely with google translate but cross checked (and word by word on web), so it's pretty reliable.

I purposedly dodged the class descriptions cause they're really too long for me

Since they all share the same last name as our account, can we have the same character name as others in game, similar to FFXIV?
