Third surprise FAQ!

Post by Flash » January 7th, 2015, 5:46 am

GM Leslie posted a new FAQ. This FAQ clarifies some answers from the last FAQ. While broadcasting the game or playing it at public places is not allowed posting screenshot and also uploading videos to Youtube is fine! They also said that they are looking for very experience testers that can give good feedback to the developers.

Update: Added native translation by Bluegale.

GM레즐리의 깜짝 FAQ! - 세 번째
Good evening.
First greetings of GM Leslie in 2015.
Did everyone have a Happy New Year?
Today I will be answering the most frequently asked questions during last week.
Image Because of the recent PC Room answer there was a lot of chaos in the forum. Could you be more specific?
Image
[Let's just put that GM Leslie explained it difficult]
Image 1. It's not that you won't be selected as a tester because you applied in PC Room.
- The content of screenshot above (which explains that you won't be protected by the company should a problem occur if you use others' accounts to apply) will be applied to normal IPs and PC Room IPs alike ONLY IF lots of accounts are used to apply. Therefore, if you just apply with your friends and/or family members then you should not be worrying.

2. Having a large family and selection process for testers are not related at all.
- After the last FAQ was updated, we have been receiving inputs like 'we have three (3) generations of family living together,' or even five (5) generations living together. Your grandfather, uncle and even your nephew who was just born couple days ago can apply IF they have authenticated themselves via 'cell-phone or I-PIN authentication.'
(South Korea has quite strict net identification policy.) Let me tell you again that using the identity of family members to apply for the beta is still a violation of the rules. I have explained this much and yet some people will try to take other players' chances by applying with multiple accounts... these are bad people.

Image Is it true that you cannot play in PC rooms?
Image Operational policies for the 1st CBT are as follows:
"3. The rights and obligations of the tester 2) The tester is not allowed to play Tree of Savior in public (PC room, library, etc.). "

Frankly, we cannot literally check every single PC Room all over Korea during the test period. However, during this 1st CBT you will be experiencing a wide variety of bugs and balance problems that we have not been able to identify beforehand, so please lock your door and play at your home if possible. If the circumstances only allow you to play outside (i.e. I don't have a PC at home, my mom thinks I'm at cram school right now... etc.), then you are allowed to do so.

Image I understand that live broadcasting is prohibited. Is uploading the videos to Youtube also banned?
Image It is not. You can share your recorded videos and images. The 'Online Broadcasting' part of the operational policies only applies to the online live streaming (broadcasting) via other routes (i.e. live streaming sites).

Image Why are you asking for the tester aspirations? I though we were applying for a beta tester, not for a company job or something.
Image For this first test it is difficult to provide a "stable gameplay environment". Unlike what users (especially overseas fans) think, we at imc GAMES do not have luxury of putting hundreds of developers to make this game. Players often exploit bugs in various and creative ways that our developers would have never thought of and show interesting behavioral patterns. We need your abilities of doing exactly THAT. After the CBT ended, the feedbacks and recommendations from all of you can improve this game in a great deal. Therefore we need the players who really love gaming, someone with the spirit of frontiers who never give up.

In order to carefully select those candidates we have implemented the aspirations part in the application, and since all of you have thoughtfully filled the part we will do our best to select the testers in fair manner.

Image I heard users that are active on the free bulletin board and cafe (i.e. forum) have better chance to get selected. It this true? I heard you also check the chat board as well so...
Image This is not true. However we do check all the comments and inputs you have uploaded. Thank you tons for the cheer-ups. I would like to post replies to all of the postings but that's not quite possible... until I learn the art of doppelganger!

Image
(The posting reads:
This is almost at the level of obsession.
I have never clung to not even a woman... but being obsessed like this, I just might become a stalker (to this game).)
[First of all turn your PC off and take a deep breath]

Image
[We read every single one of your inputs. Thank you very much.]

Image
(The posting reads: I have mistaken that you have super plumpy face. Now I actually see your appearance from behind, and you do have vivid purple dyed hair just like your avatar.)
Image
[This is rather red colored than purple...]

Image
(The posting reads: Tomorrow is the Third FAQ and next week we will have the testers announced.
How do I read FAQ? Since it's FAQ, [FAH-QYOO]? (roughly sounds like fxxk you))
[Please read it as [eff-ei-qyoo].Aoisora]
Image Please talk about barrack (Inn, hostel...) names and character names.
Image
Image Let me explain this with the screenshot above. "Team Name" is 레즐리 (rejeulri)(Leslie) and 'character name' is 콩콩 (kongkong).
Image
Barrack Name (Team Name) : 레즐리. Characters assigned to the Team 레즐리 : Leslie, kong2222
(Now it's official that 레즐리's English spelling is Leslie!)

Image
When you are chatting, it's all based on the 'Team Name' so when you whisper or use Microphone you can see the name 레즐리 pops up on the chat window. However, you will see both the Team Name and Character Name on the Rankings.
Image How many players can be in one (1) party, and how many characters can be created in the barracks?
Image You can have a maximum of five (5) players in one (1) party, and you can create four (4) characters in your barracks after the initial registration. Please do note that the Guild System will be omitted during this time's CBT.
We will announce the CBT winners next Wednesday.
I wish you all the luck and will be back with another GM Leslie's FAQ session.
Thank you very much.

So that redhead is GM 레즐리 GM Leslie, huh???
You know.. I always had this crush on redheads.... but I guess that hair she's got at least is not natural color.

Thanks to Bluegale for a better translation. My old translation was replaced with the new one in the news article. :)

So basically if I understand well.. a barrack name will act as some sort of family name for all your characters?

Yes, the barrack name will probably be the unique identifier and the char name might be freely chooseable kinda like the Blizzard Tag System works.
