Windows 10

Any of you updated yet?

I've installed it and I give it a 9/10

I'd give it a perfect score if Cortana didn't insist on using Bing to search. Also my fan is noisier than it was before.

I'm still using Windows 7 and I'm too afraid to update.
I'll need to read like 20 positive reviews before I download this. Microsft is too sneaky.

I would hold off on upgrading to Win10. Too many underlying issues and compatibility with programs and what not. In time it'll be better but if you want something functional just stick with whatever OS you have and check back in a few months.

I guess I'm what we call in marketing an e-a or early adopter haha.. The sacrificial front lines that get stabbed first before anyone else :heh:

I have no complaints yet, and all my programs seem to work aside from Mabi (which my Lenovo G500 can't run anyway because it's "too new".) The game is pretty old and she's showing her age.

I'm loving the start menu and Cortana so far, and once Directx 12 comes, I'd be so happy.

SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST

I just wanted to let you guys know that Windows 10 has the XBox's GameDVR feature. Built in screen capture, video capture and "record that last 30 sec" option! makes it easier to grab things for the game, especially that third feature!

Oops! You did something awesome but aren't actively recording? F* that! Save the past 30 seconds of your screen!

For everyone already using Windows 10, I highly recommend working through this guide:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comm ... ng_in_w10/

It shows how to disable telemetry and almost all data collection stuff. Windows 10 is a nosy little OS...

I'm more than likely going to hold off getting Windows 10 for a while.

With compatibility issues and various other things that I don't really like, I'm afraid I will be staying with Windows 7 for a while.

On the other side, people are mentioning DX12 -- but as of right now there are currently no games supported so the increase in performance isn't really necessary for me right now.

Just tested the XBox gamebar with ToS. It runs well with other programs but it seems it doesn't recognize ToS as a game :swt:

I don't know whether it's because this is beta or what.. I'd have to get recordings of gameplay some other way...
