Suspicious Forum message: VIP-Status

I today got a message about gaining VIP-Status in this forum 'forever absolutely free", with a shortened link added. This subject is a warning to those of you less paranoid than me: Do not follow that link until an official statement has been made. The user that sent the mail was a regular user of r...

Re: Elementalist - Cryomancer or Pyromancer?

I only have experience with the Pyro so far, and have noticed that he excells at dealing continuous damage to mostly-stationary targets (circlekited groups or bosses). Flame Ground and Fireball have an incredible Damage-per-Mana-Ratio and thus are very potent for high-Int-Builds when one flame groun...

Re: The archer DEX vs STR debate

I am actually not really interested in playing Archer (still totally in love with the mage), but I have to commend the amount your effort in this calculation: Very clear, thought to the end, and presenting a clear point. This is how numbercrunching should be done, and not this goddamn datamining.......

Question about Skill Calculator

I noticed that some skills in the skill simulator are marked with a yellow circle in the corner. This is not part of the image, but a calculator-specific thing.
Does anyone of you know what exactly that is supposed to mean?

Re: Exp and Drop Rates?

I think in the announcement it said that the iCBT2 will be on the state of the current kCBT. So that would include the exp from there as well, would it not?

Re: TOS(Eng. Ver) 2nd Beta Test Schedule

Hmm isn't that line in the quoted text? The testers who had participated for the 1st Beta Test can use the same keys they had used for the 1st Best Test and do not need to go through the registration process. It is in the forums-post here, but it is not said here (where most people who navigate the...

Re: TOS(Eng. Ver) 2nd Beta Test Schedule

I noticed that in the news there is a missing line in the quote under "Registration and Deadline": The one that says that iCBT1-Keys are still valid and do not need to register again. Isn't that important information too?

Re: Downtime and Scam Mails

Actually it's pretty curious that the attacker found the translation-tables and was able to edit them, but not willing to cause any harm there. Maybe he hoped that ToSBase would have dedicated BetaKeys given to them by IMC and tried to steal those for selling? That's so far the only way how I can se...

Re: New Class Icons

I like the new buttons more. Ofcourse the old style looked very much like an emblem on a shield, what was super-medieval, but these look like gems, which fits the somewhat fairytale- or mystical-theme of the game very well.

Re: English Tree of Savior Beta Announced

Small question, hope it wasn't asked before and I overlooked it:

What timezone is imc's info about the iCBT's start and end based on? I see countdowns that have 24h plus on the clock, but the korean is 7 hours ahead of where I am, so that doesn't fit.

Re: Screen Capture Program

For PC Capture I usually use Fraps, although Fraps has the drawback that it doesn't compress the files, so if you record a few hours of gameplay you easily end up with multiple hundreds of GB, and further processing of those files is very taxing on memory and somewhat slow. On the other hand, Fraps ...

Re: How about making a group from lv 1?

In general I like this idea, though I'm usually playing in a very slow pace in new games, since I tend to look into every corner, talk to every npc, etc pp. So I might slow the party down/fall behind... I'll be staying in IRC a lot though so we can just see if it works out. :ok:

Re: Attention: iCBT Testers

I know many games where filing a ticket to customer support is more of a hassle than this - absolutely great. I don't know anything of the korean language, but be sure that I'll keep a vigilant eye on the english texts that are bestowed upon me. :gg:

Re: Beta Plans

At the launch of Heavensward I've for the first time actively taken notes about the lore and story of different areas, even smaller hints that NPCs you usually don't talk to give. I enjoyed it a whole lot, so I can see myself do that for the Wiki as well. After all, I'm quite a lore-junkie. ^^ Conce...

The first skill that comes to mind is the smash-on-the-ground from the cataphract. I'm sure that would make for an awesome 'get rekt!'-Gif. :D

Re: Post CBT2 Q&A

Imagine they allow you to use both: WASD+Spacebar for Moving, Mouse for targeting & Attacks. Sure, that's not an easy thing, but the dynamics esp. for range- and mage-classes are REAL. x)

Re: Post CBT2 Q&A

I really hope they do cut out the animation-cancelling-thing. Though it proved in LoL (the only other game I know where animation-cancelling is excessively used) to be a mechanic to master and improve the learning-curve, in an RPG where Immersion and Identification with the Character are important, ...

Re: About Corsair's subweapon cancel..

I think I've read somewhere they revamped the Subweapon-mechanic in between the two CBTs, and no longer have a seperate Subweapon-Hotkey. So that skill might make the corsair more 'dual wielding' than the other classes?
